Kenny Slaught Furthers Mission Of Santa Barbara Bowl Foundation
The yearly symposium is attended by teachers, artists, donors and non-profits and enables students and locals to talk about the state of the arts in the city. The program provides the base for improved future programs. Other education outreach initiatives entail providing instruments to students in need, scholarships for art students, and grants to programs that use the resources at the Santa Barbara Bowl. Kenny Slaught explains how the foundation also finances a children’s program at Cottage Hospital, as well as some in-school and after-school programs in areas affected by the concerts at the Bowl. The Notes for Notes program offers free music lessons and instruments, and all the activities are supervised by a large volunteer committee group.
