President Herbert Hoover Contributed Significantly to the Construction of Hoover Dam – Kenny Slaught
While talking about Hoover Dam’s history, Kenny Slaught says that the noteworthy structure was finished between 1931 and 1936, which coincided with the Great Depression period. The project cost $49 million and was funded by the government. At first, the dam was called Boulder Dam, but its name was changed to Hoover Dam later on as a tribute to then-President Herbert Hoover. The former president played a major role in the founding of this huge structure. Hoover Dam measures 221 meters in height, 379 meters in length, and has more than 35.000 cubic kilometers of full capacity, and produces more than 4,2 billion kWh2 annually.
